To every woman running their own ship…

Oh hey! I see you’re out here on the open ocean too, running the waves on your very own ship! Wow! I can really see the work you’ve put in, beautiful attention to detail! I’ve been working hard too, trying to perfect that magical combination of function, strength and grace, hoping I’ll have it just right for when the winds change again.

Keep your eye on the weather but follow your gut! When we’re rollin’ and moving through our lives in healthy, loving, meaningful ways, our instincts will guide us! You really do know the answers to your questions, trust yourself and don’t fear the journey.

Missed attempts are building blocks. Ways that lead to a better understanding of yourself. View them as necessary steps, not failures. There is nothing wrong with trying something (or one hundred things) that didn’t quite work! Keep trying, keep learning. Write it out, surround yourself with encouraging, inspiring, strong, diverse people. Keep. Trying. You can’t change the weather but you can always adjust those sails!

Send your ego packing when it gets in the way. There’s no room on a ship for shadows. Besides, your ego doesn’t know admitting faults will eventually make it strong!

Love and give yourself credit for what you have done right! That attitude will attract people to take part in the love fest! You’ll have peers who celebrate you and remind you to get out of your own way when you need it!

Remember, the least you can do is be kind! You are after all, running your own ship! Treat the passengers on your voyage well. Fill your decks with happy, hopeful passengers, they’ll be the first to lend a hand when the seas get rough, there will never be a reason to weather the storms alone.
