Overview
Activity
I am an award-winning writer and editor. I craft words for clarity and meaning and help my clients look smart, focussed and organized!

I am a writer, editor and writing coach who lives in historic Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada. My maritime roots hail back to 1830. As an economist and a published author of both fiction and non-fiction, I offer developmental writing services, coaching, and copyediting and structural editing to emerging writers, whether they be bloggers, writers of business reports, or aspiring fiction writers. Everyone has a story to tell!

As an editor, I revise everything from blogs, to abstracts, resumes, and scholarly works written by academics who wish to complete their master’s theses, PhD dissertations, or publish in English-language academic journals. I also completed an indexing course at the University of California at Berkeley and index books on economics, politics, history, and topics of general interest.

I am also a published author. My first novel, Somewhere I Belong, is based on a true story and was released, in Canada, on November 1, 2014, by Acorn Press Canada, and in the US, in the Spring of 2015, by Orca Books. My short stories have been published in Jilted Angels: A Collection of Short Stories (Broad Street Press, 2002), Riptides: New Island Fiction (Acorn Press Canada, 2012), and Snow Softly Falling (Acorn Press Canada, 2015). Riptides placed third in the 2012 Atlantic Book Awards and won the 2013 Prince Edward Island Book Award. In addition to placing first in the 2014 Atlantic Writing Competition’s literary non-fiction category, I received a mentorship from the Writers Federation of Nova Scotia to study under award-winning writer, William Kowalski. I am also a graduate of the Humber School for Writers, where I studied novel writing under two-time Governor General Award winner, David Adams Richards.

I am a member of the Editors Association of Canada, the Writers Federation of Nova Scotia, and am a partner in Editors East, a Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada, based editing company.
